the eyes of God

"Let no one say when he is tempted, 'I am tempted by God'; for God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does He Himself tempt anyone." (James 1:13 NKJV)

I have long wanted to share something on this subject. So i'm so excited to finally have something to say! The topic puts me on edge however that's the fear of the Lord. I feel like i'm a child in this subject however.

God is my support

One of the speakers at Before Thy Face used this line in his sermon. Here is my journey in the last few days in faith and finances!

Jodi and I prayed after the church service on Sunday, with $6 between us knowing that we would somehow get to Christchurch. Jordan from THOP gave us some food and we received just enough money for us to make the ferry crossing!

What do Angus beef, blizzards in the desert and time travel have in common?

David and battling traumatic events

I have been thinking about 1 Samuel 20 since I started hitch hiking upto Tauranga. The story begins by David running to His friend Jonathan (who happens to be Saul's son) and saying:
"What have I done? What is my guilt? And what is my sin before your father, that he seeks my life?" (1 Samuel 20:1b, RSV)

God surprises us

This is part 4 of "Journey to Tauranga" Thanks!

I heard God say, "these are waiting spots for you" - I can't put words to what God has done. Even if i were to tell the whole story it would somehow appear garbled. I have seen friends, I have embraced my family, I have cried out to God because He is worthy, I have been provided for by God Himself.

Journey to Freedom

I can't take the credit for this, I could be anywhere, in a ditch or shivering on the side of the road. My enthusiasm comes from knowing I can encountering God's heart every day regardless where I am. I can't live half-heartedly as if I can have some trading on the side while having a relationship with Him. It's either all or nothing.

Well, Part 3 "Journey to Tauranga" - from Bulls to Rotorua.

The place i set up to today was near the exit of bulls. After two hours of holding out the sign, my ride came! It was immediately after saying "I want a ride to Tauranga" - God was saying. There is no discretion between the two. She took me to Taupo where we parted ways. I played the guitar for the first time, today. Then I decided to put my sign out there, and now I'm in Rotorua. I ahve been paid with unrepayable kindness. That's what I like about kindness. I never want to be paid for it! I know that there is strength in me.

Here is part 2 of "Journey to Tauranga" Thanks!

I left to go hitchhike. All my feelings were about getting a ride, and how this was a bad spot to hitch hike from (lots of trucks passing by, very fast) when immediately God Provides again. Neville (If you are reading this) Thanks for giving me a lift to picton and your advice! You see, as soon as I my mind wandered i began singing, and the singing was a chorus

Here is part 1 of the "journey to Tauranga" as I wrote in my diary. Thanks!

I left church shortly after 12 to camp by the main road to Rangiora. I'm at Jamie and Alex's flat right now, in Blenheim. I got a ride with them from Woodend about 2 oclock. We've talked about everything from morals, to freedom, predestination, sin, redemption, righteousness, goodness to encountering God's heart every day (God has emotions). I am grateful. Thank you Lord. If we're made in His image then we do our best to be like Him. I am sincerely thankful for the generosity - opening up their homes to couch surfers and including me in conversations. I feel like we're friends.

YWAM Update: The Weeping Traveller

Greetings, everyone! from the humble abode of Christchurch!
This is one of those updates that has taken a long time to come. As many of you know there was an earthquake in Christchurch on the 22nd of February. Just last week (before my birthday!) I had the opportunity to go in and see the central city for myself. It was actually the first time I've been in there since the earthquake. Though the damage doesn't look severe, most buildings are ready to fall down. It affects you in many ways.
