This season, which started on August 29, and ends on the 7th of October, is part of the Jewish Calendar, called "The Season of Teshuvah" a fourty day period which culminates in Rosh Hashanah, Yom Kippur, and Succat. It is a house preparation season, putting things in order for God - coming into a time of repentance, turning from sins, to the true God. Here are a few scriptures mentioning Houses in the Bible.
Joshua 24:15 "And if it seems evil to you to serve the LORD, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that [were] on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD."
Matthew 12:44,45 "Then he says, 'I will return to my house from which I came.' And when he comes, he finds [it] empty, swept, and put in order." (continues on)
Haggai 1:9 "[You] looked for much, but indeed [it came to] little; and when you brought it home, I blew it away. Why?" says the LORD of hosts. "Because of My house that [is in] ruins, while every one of you runs to his own house.

"The fig tree puts forth her green figs, And the vines with the tender grapes Give a good smell. Rise up, my love, my fair one, And come away!" (Song 2:13)Each time you are excited about a new development, change, experience etc the effect is that it gives off an aroma. Each time you discern that you are growing in compassion or faithfulness or that you are any number of emotions it lets off a fragrance of new life. The more that you discern these changes the more excitement and more rejoicing that happens!

"Because of the fragrance of your good ointments, Your name is ointment poured forth; Therefore the virgins love you." (Song 1:3)
"But solid food belongs to those who are of full age, that is, those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil." (Heb 5:14)When we became born again, we became a new creation. (2 Cor 5:17) This means that we have an aroma of life. You can smell life. When you are around a dead body it has its own smell. There is an aroma of life as well. God invites us to exercise our spiritual senses so that we discern both good and evil. In our natural body we have 5 senses: Touch, Taste, See, Hear, Smell. We also have Spiritual senses of the same kind. (see various scriptures: 1 Peter 2:3) The significance of the book of Song of Songs is that it explodes in it's revelation of the spiritual sense of smell.
